GUI SHU
Come on a contemplative journey through the streets, suburbs and open spaces of Taipei and Perth in Steamworks Arts’ latest production, 歸屬 Gui Shu (Belong).
Devised by an extraordinary collective of independent artists, each performance fuses dance, music, sound and video projection live on stage to create a visceral reflection on moments of isolation, connection and finding your way. The result of an extended exchange across cultures and artforms, 歸屬 Gui Shu asks how our understanding of self and home are shaped by our experiences with others.
Described by audiences and reviewers as beautiful, haunting, elemental & hypnotic, the performance immerses the viewer in an experience both recognisable and other-worldly, either up close or from a distance.
Produced by Performing Lines WA, commissioned by the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts.
